Attendance Support Fund

To make UK Kidney Week more accessible and inclusive, the UKKA has introduced a flexible Attendance Support Fund. This replaces the previous crèche facility, which saw very limited use, and provides a more adaptable form of assistance tailored to individual needs.

The fund offers financial support to help members meet additional childcare or dependent-care costs incurred as a direct result of attending UKKW.

• The award provides up to £300 per applicant
• Applicants must be current members of the UKKA
• Payments will only be made on receipt of appropriate supporting evidence

Examples of eligible support

• Home-based childcare or dependent care expenses incurred specifically because of UKKW attendance (not for normal, ongoing expenses).
• Travel costs for a relative or other care provider to your home to look after your child(ren) or dependent during UKKW.
• Additional costs for existing childcare or dependent care arrangements (not for normal, ongoing expenses).

Application process

• Deadline: 31 January 2026

• Decisions: within one week of application

• Email the Events Team outlining:

  • The additional costs and proposed care arrangement

  • Your UKKA membership status

  • Confirmation that you can provide evidence for reimbursement
