PROGRAMME

Your proposal should include the following information:

Proposed session title

A concise title that gives a flavour of the session content and draws the attention.

Aims and objectives

What will delegates gain from this session? What are the learning outcomes? Will they learn something new or gain a new perspective? Who is the audience?

Session outline

What will be covered in the session?

What is the structure - lectures, panel/round table discussions, workshop?

Content should include perspectives from a variety of professions and/or patients.

Don’t try and cram too much into a session – be realistic about how long your speakers need to cover their topic, and give time for audience interaction.

Proposed speakers

Please do not invite chairs or speakers until a member of the programme committee has discussed the proposal with you.

• We expect that the proposed speakers and chairs reflect the diverse nature of the UKKA and our kidney patients.
• We encourage applicants to collaborate with trainees, affiliate groups and special interest groups to create session proposals to attract a wider audience to attend.
• Overseas speakers may be proposed to present virtually.
• All UK-based speakers are expected to present in person.

The Programme Committee will add suitable oral abstract presentations to sessions:

• 90 minute sessions - 2 abstracts
• 60 minute sessions - 1 abstract

Please allow 10 minutes per presentation (7 mins for presentation, 3 mins for Q&A).

Please take this into account when structuring your proposal.

The programme committee will review your proposal, and if the session is included in the programme, a committee member will be in touch to discuss the proposal and the next steps by the end of November. They may have suggestions on the proposed content or speakers, and if a proposal is similar to another one submitted, they may suggest merging the sessions. They will then keep in touch as you develop the session and invite speakers.
We usually receive more proposals than there is space in the programme so it’s possible your proposal may be rejected.

• Confirmed speakers: 3 February 2025
• Notification of abstracts to be included in session: March 2025
