Attendance Support Fund: childcare and dependent-care costs

To make UKKW more inclusive and accessible, the UKKA has introduced a new Attendance Support Fund to assist members with additional childcare or dependent-care costs that arise as a direct result of attending UKKW.

This flexible fund replaces the previous crèche facility and offers tailored support to meet individual needs. Applicants can request up to £300, reimbursed on receipt of appropriate evidence.

Examples of eligible costs include:

  • Home-based childcare or dependent care expenses incurred specifically because of UKKW attendance (not for normal, ongoing expenses).
  • Travel costs for a relative or other care provider to your home to look after your child(ren) or dependent during UKKW.
  • Additional costs for existing childcare or dependent care arrangements (not for normal, ongoing expenses).

Applications close 31 January 2026, with decisions made within one week of submission.

Supporting access and inclusion across the kidney community

These funding opportunities reflect the UKKA’s commitment to making UK Kidney Week open to all professionals working in kidney care — recognising that personal, financial and caring responsibilities can present barriers to attendance.

By providing targeted support for both professional development and care-related needs, the grants aim to ensure a diverse range of voices and experiences are represented in Harrogate next March.
