UK Kidney Week Approved for 14 CPD Points by the Royal College of Physicians
Healthcare professionals attending UK Kidney Week 2025 will be able to claim 14 external CPD points, following formal approval by the Royal College of Physicians (RCP).
Taking place from 10–12 June 2025 at the Bournemouth International Centre, UK Kidney Week is the largest annual meeting of the UK kidney community. With a wide-ranging programme that covers clinical care, quality improvement, innovation, leadership and service delivery, the conference offers a valuable opportunity for multi-professional learning and reflection.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) plays a vital role in maintaining safe, effective medical practice. The General Medical Council (GMC) highlights the importance of undertaking CPD that reflects the full scope of a doctor’s practice, with a focus on the quality of CPD and the ability to reflect on what has been learned. While the GMC does not mandate a fixed number of points, the RCP recommends physicians aim for 50 hours of CPD annually, including 25 hours of external CPD.
UK Kidney Week 2025 has been designed to support a broad range of CPD needs across the kidney workforce. With sessions led by experts from nephrology, pharmacy, nursing, psychology, technology and more, the programme encourages attendees to reflect on their own practice and apply new knowledge to improve patient care.
